Description

Dried fractions from a biomass sampling in the nutrient optimisation experiment 1477 Flakaliden in October 1997. Fractions are needles, living branch axles, dead branch axles, lichens, wood, bark and roots. Twenty-four trees (12 trees/treatment) were sampled. Tree number 1-6 and 12-17 were taken on C plots (control). Tree number 7-11 and 18-24 were taken on IL plots (Irrigation with liquid fertiliser).

Background information

In October 1997 a destructive sampling was carried out at Flakaliden in two treatments, control (C) and Irrigation with liquid fertiliser (IL). Tree crowns were divided into seven stratums. One sample branch were taken from each stratum. Five stem discs were taken on each sample tree at base, breast height, 50%, 70% and 85% of the stem. Tree stumps and roots were sampled.
