Description
Remains of ground spruce needle samples taken at three occasions (T1-T3) in the nutrient optimisation experiment 1477 Flakaliden in year 1996. T stands for occasion/tillfälle in Swedish. The samples consist of ground needles from branch whorl 7, age classes C-, C+1- and C+2-needles. Ground needles (T1-T3) = sample no. Fla 1441-1484. A key list of sample numbers is available for download.
Background information
The sampling includes three treatments: control (C), solid fertilisation (F) and irrigation with liquid fertiliser (IL). Ten trees per treatment were sampled in occasion T1-T3, a total of 30 trees at each occasion Sampling dates: T1: 1996-05-30 sample no. 1441-1466 (pooled samples per treatment and individual trees) T2: 1996-06-26 sample no. 1467-1475 (pooled samples per treatment) T3: 1996-10-10 sample no. 1477-1484 (pooled samples per treatment)

- Miscellaneous 2022: Needle sample (T3) no. Fla 1477 (C), 1480 (F), 1483 (IL) are stored in a special batch series that includes C+1 needle samples from 1987 to 2020.
- Analysis 2004: These samples were first stored at The Department of Forest Production Ecology, SLU Uppsala. In 2004 the samples were sent to SilvaBoreal-Archive for longtime storage.
