Description
Remains of spruce needle samples taken 2010-10-27 in the nutrient optimisation experiment 1477 Flakaliden. The samples are pooled samples consisting of C+1-needles from five trees on each parcel. Needle samples were taken from the upper third of the tree crown, with the intention of sampling the seventh branch whorl. Nutrient analysis was performed at the Department of Forest Ecology and Management, SLU Umeå. A key list of sample numbers is available for download.
Background information
The sampling includes five treatments: control (C), solid fertilisation (F), irrigation with liquid fertiliser (IL ), ash+N (AN) and previously irrigated parcels (I) that started to be irrigated with liquid fertiliser in 2007 (new IL). Needle samples were taken on both thinned and unthinned parcels. In total 24 parcels were sampled. Needle samples from unthinned parcels were analysed.
