Description

Dried fractions from a a supplementary biomass sampling in the nutrient optimisation experiment 1477 Flakaliden. Fractions are needles, branch axles, stem disks and bark from six trees on plot 13 A and 13B (3 trees/plot). Treatments on both plots were irrigation with liquid fertiliser (IL). Plot 13B also had been thinned 60%. Tree crowns were divided into four stratums. One sample branches were taken from each stratum. Nine to eleven stem disks were taken on each sample tree depending on tree height. Sample tree 1-3 = plot 13B (IL thinning 60%). Sample tree 4-6 = parcell 13A (IL).

Background information

In September 2019 a destructive sampling was carried out at Flakaliden in collaboration with Dr. Hyungwoo Lim, Department of Forest Ecology and Management, SLU Umeå. The purpose was to supplement previous biomass sampling in 2013 with larger trees from the IL treatment. Data from the biomass sampling are stored in Safe deposit ID 88.
